Dawson Creek Council wishes to remind everyone that the new Automated Residential Waste Collection System will commence next week, October 19, 2015.  

Mayor Bumstead states “I am happy that the time has come for automated collection in Dawson Creek. This new system will provide residents with the continued reliable garbage collection service they expect, and using standardized containers will regulate garbage volumes entering the landfill and limit the garbage that escapes the container and ends up on the streets.”

Your new garbage carts should be placed out at the curb on your scheduled garbage day. The carts must be placed with the handles facing the home and the lid completely closed or the cart cannot be picked up. Any waste placed on the ground beside the cart will not be picked up. Should you require a second garbage cart, or any additional information on the service, please contact the Utilities Department at 250 784 3610

Council would like to thank Waste Management Ltd. for their assistance with providing information to residents about the new system. Please read the leaflet included with your cart about how the new service will work including tips on proper placement of the cart on collection day.
