The City of Dawson Creek invites applications for an Equipment Operator 2 at the Dawson Creek Airport. This is a full time position, starting as soon as possible. This position will be split seasonally between the Public Works operations and Airport operations.
Under the direction of the Airport Manager, Director of Infrastructure, Roads and Grounds Manager, or designate, the successful candidate will operate machinery and equipment including dump trucks, backhoes, vac trucks and specialized airport equipment.
The successful candidate will have completed Grade 12 or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid Class 3 Driver’s Licence with air brake endorsement and a clean driver’s abstract are requirements of the position. Candidates should also demonstrate understanding of basic electrical and mechanical processes and be able to recognize problems related to the operation of the equipment. The ability to maintain harmonious relationships with all members of the public and other staff members while following established procedures is also required. Candidates will be required to acquire an AVOPS and Radio Licence (within 6 months) and Runway Condition Report Certification (within one year) as a condition of successful completion of the trial or probationary period.
