The City of Dawson Creek invites applications for a full time Water Treatment Plant Operator 3 or 4. Under the general supervision of the Director of Infrastructure, Water Resource Manager, or designate, this position performs a variety of duties related to the collection, treatment and distribution of water and wastewater.
The ideal candidate will have completed Grade 12, including chemistry and algebra, or have an equivalent combination of education and experience. Desired minimum qualifications include Level 3 Water Treatment Operator Certification, Level 1 Waste Water Treatment and Collection, Level 2 Water Distribution Operator, cross connection control and chlorine handling certifications, along with a valid driver’s licence. The ideal candidate will have a minimum five years’ prior relevant experience. Candidates with less than the minimum qualifications with proven skills and relevant experience may be considered.
This is a union position and wages and benefits are as provided in the current Collective Agreement. A complete job description is available upon request.
