HOURLY RATE:                               $30.22 (after probation $33.58)

The City of Dawson Creek invites applications for the position(s) of First Class Mechanic. This is a full time permanent position in the Infrastructure Department. Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure or designate, the First Class Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance of vehicles, equipment and the Public Works Shop.

The successful candidate must:

  • have completed Grade 12;
  • possess a B.C. & Interprovincial Heavy Duty, Diesel, or Automotive Trade Qualification Ticket, with four years of experience;
  • possess a Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program license;
  • possess a valid Class 3 Drivers License with air endorsement;
  • have the physical agility and ability to complete duties requiring physical effort;

The successful applicant will have the ability to perform all duties in a safe manner following established procedures and to maintain harmonious relationships with all members of the public and other staff members.
