Aboriginal Employment Partnership Initiative

The Aboriginal Employment Partnership Initiative offers employers and Aboriginal employment, training and education agencies an opportunity to share real and pertinent information about a company’s employment and economic opportunities in order to develop short and long term strategies for increasing Aboriginal workforce participation. By supporting the development of the Aboriginal community’s future workforce, employers gain access to one of Canada’s youngest and fastest growing populations, Aboriginal people.

AEPI is based on a successful model developed in Saskatchewan. Since its inception in 1995, employer partners in the Saskatchewan government program have employed over 1500 Aboriginal workers at all levels of their organizations. The City of Dawson Creek entered into the partnership on November 1, 2002.
