Centrally located in the Peace Region and on the junction of four well-maintained highways - Highway 97 South (Hart Highway). Highway 97 North (Alaska Highway), Highway 49 East to Alberta and Highway 2 South to Edmonton - Dawson Creek is easily accessible from every direction, summer and winter. No wonder it has always been known as the area's transportation hub, or as we like to say "The Centre of It All". A number of trucking companies call the City of Dawson Creek home, as do moving companies, pilot car services, and vehicle rentals. Greyhound Canada operates scheduled bus service in all directions and charters are available as well. Under special regulations, Long Combination Vehicles coming from Alberta are allowed into the City of Dawson Creek, further cutting down on transportation costs. The modern "drop floor" buses of the Dawson Creek Transit System connect all areas within the City, allowing easy access for handicapped citizens and seniors.
