Mobile City App

The Best City App for You

Imagine an App that gives you easy access to City services, gives notice of important events and warns of emergencies. Such an app is available for you!

In 2014 the City launched the Waste App. This App for mobile phones allowed residents to enter their address and receive their garbage pickup schedule and notifications relating to waste. The App also allowed residents to search where they can dispose of all waste items, including compost and recycling.

Recently the City rebuilt the app, which is now called the City of Dawson Creek App. Users can now report problems within the City to the appropriate departments including: Bylaw, Utilities, Development Services, Infrastructure, Animal Control and Administration.

Frequently visited pages on the City’s website such as; the Kenn Borek Aquatic Centre, City Events Calendar, Live Equipment Map, City Bylaws, Official Community Plan, Council Meeting Information and City Contacts are now directly linked to the App for users’ convenience.

When users first download the app they are prompted to enter their address. This allows Public Works, Utilities and Administration to send out notifications of emergencies, construction, hydrant flushes and garbage scheduling changes to the entire community or specific areas and neighbourhoods only.

If you already have the Waste App you already have the new City of Dawson Creek App! All you need to do is update the app and all the new features will be available.

New users can download the app from the App Store or Google Play by searching for “Dawson Creek”.
