The City of Dawson Creek invites applications for the position of Health & Safety Clerk.  Under the direction of the Safety Coordinator, the Health & Safety Clerk provides administrative assistance and clerical support duties for the Safety Department.

 

The successful applicant must have a Grade 12 education or an equivalent combination of education, skills and experience.  The successful applicant must be efficient in computer use and programs and, in particular, the Microsoft Office suite. Accurate keyboard/typing skills of 60 WPM and demonstrated competence on a variety of office related equipment is required. Completion of an Applied Business Technology certificate program or equivalent is an asset. The successful applicant will have the ability to maintain harmonious relationships with all members of the public and other staff members while completing the required duties in a safe manner following established procedures.

 

A certificate in occupational HSE or other safety certification on Incident reporting, Workplace Inspections, Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment etc.  would be an asset, as well as a basic knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and Health & Safety legislation.
