The Dawson Creek Chamber of Commerce, the Peace Country Roots Group and the Peace River District Women’s Institute were in attendance this morning for three separate proclamations.
2019 was proclaimed as the “75th Anniversary of the Chamber of Commerce” in Dawson Creek. Board Members from the Chamber of Commerce (pictured below) presented Mayor and Council with locally baked cupcakes to celebrate the occasion.
The week of February 18-24, 2019 was proclaimed as “Heritage Week” in Dawson Creek. Sue Johnson and Anna Haycock (pictured below) of the Peace Country Roots Group encouraged everyone to look into their own genealogy and to get in contact with them if anyone is interested in learning how to map genealogy.
The week of February 17-23, 2019 was proclaimed as “BC Women’s Institute Week” in Dawson Creek. Members of the Women’s Institute (pictured below) were in attendance to accept the proclamation and to gift Mayor Bumstead with a pin from the institute.
