Heavy Rain Forecast June 30-July 3

Environment Canada as of 3 pm today (July 1st) is forecasting up to 60 mm of rain to fall in the South Peace Region by the afternoon of Thursday, July 2nd. An Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) has been activated and staff are monitoring the situation closely. Further updates will be posted on the City of Dawson Creek website and the City of Dawson Creek Facebook page. For urgent matters, dial 311.

Please be advised that Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a HEAVY RAIN notification for the Northeast BC area. The Peace Region could receive up to 80 mm of rain.

City Staff are aware and are currently monitoring creek and sanitary levels. Citizens are advised to be prepared. Floods are common in BC and can happen any time of year.
