Fall Recreation Leisure Guide Now Out!

The City of Dawson Creek Fall Leisure Guide is now out!

The guide highlights information on Fall activities, programs and events offered by the Community Services Department (Parks & Recreation).

What's Inside: special events, drop-in schedules and a variety of registered classes (swim lessons, volleyball leagues, archery, cooking, sports and more).

Registration is now open for Fall Recreation programs. Registration for swim lessons opens on August 28 at 8:45 AM.

New Hours for Dawson Creek Visitor Information Centre

As we approach the end of summer, we begin to see less traffic come through the Dawson Creek Visitor Information Centre located at 900 Alaska Ave. Effective August 20, 2023, the centre hours will be as follows:

• Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Closed Sunday and Monday

Campfire Ban Removed

Effective on Friday, August 11th, the ban on campfires was removed in the Prince George and Northwest Fire Centres, which includes Dawson Creek. When making a campfire be sure: -There is quick access to a shovel or at least 8 litres of water the whole time the campfire is lit -There is a fuel break around the campfire, free of any debris or combustible materials -The fire is fully extinguished and the ashes are cold to the touch before leaving the campfire for any length of time

Registration Opens for Fall Recreation Programs

Registration opens for Fall Recreation Programs on Monday, August 14 at 8:45am!

What's coming this season:

• Preschoolers can enjoy a wide variety of programs including: Ladybugs & Inchworms, Toddler Time, Roaming Rascals, Lil' Tots Drop In and Introduction to the Kitchen. 
• Youth ages 6 and older can try Archery, Youth Night, Lil' Chef Academy or Master Chef Academy. 
• Teens will have the opportunity to drop in to several programs including Teen Night at the Rink, Drop In Volleyball and Drop In Hockey.
