Dawson Creek has an outstanding selection of housing choices, including new designs in great neighbourhoods and affordable homes in older neighbourhoods. It is one of the most affordable cities in the Northeast Region whether buying, renting or building.
Prices for lots and finished homes are low compared with most areas in BC. Both newer subdivisions and older mature neighbourhoods offer comfortable surroundings close to schools and retail outlets.
Fireside Glen, Glenwood Terrace, Chapel Hill, Evergreen and Parkside are adult-oriented developments.
New subdivisions include Crescent View, Manor Heights, Harbour Park, Sunset Ridge, Harvest View, Country Hills Estates, and the Woodlands.
Dawson Creek boasts large park areas running throughout the city along the creek.
Public transit is available to residential areas.
Property Values
While property values in Dawson Creek have been rising consistently over the last several decades, recent years have seen property values in Dawson Creek relatively plateau due in large part to a world-wide oil and gas industry slow-down. In 2017 and 2018, assessments saw very minor decreases in average value. But in 2019, while other communities in the region continued to drop, Dawson Creek’s average single family home saw a slight increase thanks to the diverse and resilient local economy.
