The City of Dawson Creek requires animal licences for cats, dogs, hens and bees. Licences must be renewed annually.
Get a licence
We have partnered with DocuPet to provide enhanced cat and dog licensing services for Dawson Creek residents. Licences may be purchased:
- Online at dawsoncreek.docupet.com, or
- In person at City Hall, 10105 12A Street Monday to Friday from 8:30 PM to 4:30 PM
If adopting a pet through the SPCA, a license can be obtained at the BC South Peace SPCA. The SPCA is open Tuesday to Saturday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Pet tags
When you license your pet, you’ll receive a unique tag for their collar and free access to DocuPet’s HomeSafe® service, which helps reunite lost pets through linked tags and detailed online profiles. You can choose a standard tag at no extra cost or upgrade to a stylish designer tag for a small fee. Both types of tags can be personalized with your pet’s name and your phone number and serve as your pet’s official Dawson Creek licence.
Hens and bees
Hens and bees must still be licensed in person at City Hall, 10105 12A Street, Dawson Creek, BC. Licences can be purchased using cash, debit or credit.
