The City of Dawson Creek contracts the British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BC SPCA) for all animal services, including licensing. For information about nuisance animals, impoundment, hen keeping or bee keeping, view our Animal Responsibility Bylaw.
Animal licences are required for cats, dogs, hens and bees.
The SPCA operates animal control on behalf of the City and their office is open Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM. For more information, contact the SPCA.
The City is known to have deer, moose, and beavers exploring our streets. If you have concerns, contact the Bylaw Officers or call the Provincial RAPP Line at 1-877-952-7277.
The trail system and some parks provide pet waste stations with waste bags available. View the map below to see all of the great places to take your canine friend for a walk, including Barbaree Park at 105th Ave and 15th Street, which is currently designated as a Dog Park.
