Water Sales

The City of Dawson Creek owns and maintains four different water sales facilities. We operate the water sales accounts through the Simcom Water Sales Website. The program allows water haulers to add money to their online accounts using a credit card at any time of day, enhancing the user experience.

Water station accounts

You must register for a water sales account or complete a trucked waste agreement before you are able to use our water sales facilities. If you had an old water account for our FOB system before May 2022, you will need to have your account switched over to the new system.

Get an account

  • Call 311 or 250-784-3600, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Visit City Hall in person Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Add money to your account

  1. Go to the Simcom water website
  2. Click on “User Mgmt”
  3. Click on “My Profile”
  4. Click on “Process Payment” and enter the amount you would like to add to your account
  5. Enter your credit card information
  6. Click “Process”

*Only credit cards can be used on this system.

Water station locations

We offer both residential and commercial water services, as well as wastewater drop-off facilities. You may need different tools, depending which location you plan to use.

Alaska Highway potable water stations

These locations are at 2040 Alaska Highway and are open 24/7. There are two stations for residential filling and two for commercial filling. You will need:

  • A water tank
  • Approximately 8 feet of hose
  • A 2-inch cam-lock coupling (female end)

116th Ave potable water stations

This location is at 204 116 Avenue and is open 24/7. There is one station for residential filling and one combined station for commercial filling or non-potable use. You will need:

  • A water tank
  • Approximately 8 feet of hose
  • A 2-inch cam-lock coupling (female end)

116th Ave non-potable water station

This location is at 204 116 Avenue and is open 24/7. There is one combined station for commercial filling or non-potable use. This location has a lower valve only. No overhead valves. You will need:

  • A water tank
  • Approximately 8 feet of hose
  • A 3-inch cam-lock coupling (female end)

Commercial Potable Water Haulers

Water resale haulers can fill at Alaska Highway and 116th Avenue potable water stations. You need an agreement with the City to use the commercial filling. Contact our Administration Department to learn more.

You must get Northern Health to inspect your unit, and display a "drinking water only" sign on the truck water tank.

Reclaim Facility

This facility is at 11604 1 Street and it supplies reclaimed wastewater for specific purposes. You need an agreement with the City to use it. Contact our Administration Department to learn more.

Trucked Waste Facility

This facility is for the disposal of trucked wastewater and sewage and is at 248 115 Avenue. You need an agreement with the City to use it. Contact our Administration Department to learn more.

Using the water stations

You must have a water sales account before you are able to use the water stations. To use the water stations:

  • Bring your Operator ID and Validation Code with you
  • Ensure your account has enough money in it by checking your balance online
  • Fill your tank
  • Receive your receipt automatically through email

To view a step-by-step procedure of how to fill your tank.

RV sani-dump

We provide an RV sani-dump for use free of charge at 212 115 Avenue. From May to October of each year, the City provides a freshwater tap at each station. Due to freezing temperatures, we shut the freshwater supply off during the colder months. Residents are still welcome to use the sani-dump once the water has been turned off. We recommend bringing:

  • A freshwater hose
  • A blackwater hose
  • A greywater hose
  • Rubber gloves

Cost

Our Fees and Charges Bylaw is updated each year through Council. It lists the amount of every City fee. Costs increase on January 1st every year.
