Nomination Package |
The 2022 Election Nomination Packages will be available at Dawson Creek City Hall from Tuesday, August 2, 2022. You may visit the Administration Department, 3rd floor City Hall on weekdays (excluding Statutory Holidays) between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM to collect a Nomination Package (which includes a memory stick containing all forms, guides and brochures). When can candidates begin campaigning? Visit the Elections BC website for more Candidate Information. There are no time restrictions for when people can go out and talk to others to let them know they plan to run for office. The Pre-campaign period runs from Monday, July 18, 2022 to Friday, September 15, 2022. At the beginning of this period, election advertising rules come into force and continue through to General Voting Day. The Campaign period runs from Saturday, September 17, 2022 to Saturday, October 15, 2022. Legislation requires that this period begin on the 28th day before General Voting Day and end at the close of voting on General Voting Day. Candidate and third party expense limits apply during this period. The Nomination period begins at 9:00 AM on August 30, 2022 and closes at 4:00 PM on September 9, 2022. The Declaration of Candidates is after 4:00 PM on September 9, 2022. |
Ballot Order |
After the close of the nomination period, a draw is completed to determine the order of names on the ballot for the City of Dawson Creek Candidates. The names of the School District No. 59 Candidates are listed in alphabetical order on the ballot, which is in accordance with their election bylaw. |
