Arena Rentals

Ice, Dry Floor and Meeting room rentals are available at the Kin and Memorial arenas. Review the Arena User Guide and Ice Allocation Policy for information on general guidelines, rental requests, rules of conduct and more.  

Booking

For all booking inquiries, email Community Services or call 250-784-3604.

Steps to Book:

  1. Make payment at time of booking
  2. Submit a copy of your insurance. If you don't have any, ask about buying it through us. Our insurance requirements are:
    • 5 Million Commercial General Liability
    • City of Dawson Creek added as "Additional Insured", as well as the facility name
    • 30 days written notice of insurance cancellation
    • Insurance must be valid
  3. License to Use and Occupy contract must be signed

Insurance

Apply for rental insurance through the MIABC Event Policy Portal. All renters of City of Dawson Creek facilities are required to have rental insurance. The MIABC Portal is quick and easy to use.

Steps to Complete

  1. Tentatively book the facility with us through email or by phone at 250-784-3611
  2. Apply for $5 million liability insurance through the portal
  3. MIABC will forward your insurance information to us
  4. We will contact you to complete your booking

Cost

Our Fees and Charges Bylaw is updated each year through Council. It lists the cost of every City fee. On May 1st of each year costs increase.

Meetings

Meeting room rentals are available during the dry floor season or ice season. View the Fees and Charges Bylaw for current costs or call 250-784-3611 for booking information.

Dry floor season
Dry floor season is from approximately April to September when the ice is removed from the arenas. There is a two hour minimum requirement to rent a meeting room during dry floor season. Dry Floor Season rates are the same as Ice Season rates, plus additional staff costs if the meeting is outside of operational hours.
Ice season

There is a one hour minimum requirement to rent a meeting room during ice season.

Prime Time Ice

Prime time is from 3PM-10PM weekdays, and 8AM-10PM weekends. A last minute booking is any booking of open ice that falls within seven days of the booking.

Non-Prime Time Ice

Non-prime time is from 5AM-3PM  and 10PM-12AM weekdays, and 5AM-8AM and 10PM to 12AM on weekends. A last minute booking is any booking of open ice that falls within seven days of the booking.

Additional items or services are available at our arenas. Storage rooms are available for user groups with 75 or more hours of ice booked in a season.
