Occasionally, the City of Dawson Creek partners with other organizations on initiatives that contribute to the sustainability of Dawson Creek.
Below are current initiatives that the City is working on through partnerships with other organizations.
BC Supportive Housing Project
The BC Supportive Housing Project is currently being developed by organizations in partnership with the City of Dawson Creek to advance the community’s sustainability. The plans are created in consultation with the community and stakeholders.
BC Housing, the City of Dawson Creek and the South Peace Community Resources Society (SPCRS) are working together to provide 30 new homes with supports for people experiencing or at-risk of homelessness. The site of this project is 1024-104 Avenue. The City of Dawson Creek has donated the land and a rezoning application has been submitted.
BC Housing and SPCRS will work with local service providers to tenant the building with the right mix of residents to match the supports.
What is Supportive Housing?
BC Housing is developing approximately 30 homes with supports at 1024-104 Avenue. The property will provide self-contained studio homes with the necessary supports to help people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in accessing stable and secure housing.
