Council Meeting Highlights - July 14, 2025

Read below about some of the decisions made by the City of Dawson Creek Council at the July 14, 2025 Council Meeting.

National Drowning Prevention Week Proclamation

City team members Amanda Neufeld and Morgan Wigglesworth from the Kenn Borek Aquatic Centre were in attendance to declare July 20 to 27, 2025 as National Drowning Prevention Week in Dawson Creek. The Aquatics team will be providing many free activities and events throughout the week – view more information on the City of Dawson Creek Recreation Facebook page.

Zoning Bylaw Update

Consultants from Urban Systems were in attendance to provide a presentation on the upcoming Zoning Bylaw Update. View the presentation online.

Report No. 25-103 Community Partners Program

Report No. 25-103 Community Partners Program was brought forward to review the proposed updated Community Partners Program and receive Council's feedback regarding the program for consideration of re-implementation. Council approved the Community Partners program as presented, using a fee-based funding model for the Park Bench and Tree Dedication programs. They also directed Staff to implement the Adopt-a-Park program with an annual honorarium to be provided to participating individuals or groups as part of the Community Clean-Up campaign.

Report No. 25-131 Transportation Master Plan for Adoption

Report No. 25-131 Transportation Master Plan for Adoption was brought forward to present the final Transportation Master Plan to Council for adoption. Council adopted the plan, which will provide the City with an official guiding document, serving as a policy framework to inform and align projects across the organization.
