Climbing Wall Rentals | City of Dawson Creek

Groups or individuals are able to rent the climbing wall from the City of Dawson Creek for private usage. Availability is dependent on the pool and climbing wall schedule.

Steps to Book

Make payment at time of booking
Submit a copy of your insurance. If you don't have any, you can purchase it through us - view the details on the next tab.
- Our insurance requirements are:
  - 5 Million Commercial General Liability
  - City of Dawson Creek added as "Additional Insured", as well as the facility name
  - 30 days written notice of insurance cancellation
  - Insurance must be valid
Sign the License to Use and Occupy contract
All climbers must sign a waiver before climbing; those ages 4-18 years must have their waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Apply for rental insurance through the MIABC Event Policy Portal. All renters of City of Dawson Creek facilities are required to have rental insurance. The MIABC Portal is quick and easy to use.

Cost

Our Fees and Charges Bylaw No. 3932 is updated each year through Council. It lists the amount of every City fee; be aware that GST is added to this price. Costs increase on May 1st every year (taxes are included in the below costs).

Wall rentals

Rentals outside of operating hours will include additional staff fees. Each rental includes one staff and exclusive use of the wall for up to four people. Additional staff fees are required if your group is larger than four. Groups can include a maximum of up to 16 people.

Amenities and features

Located at 300 Hwy 2, in the lobby of the Kenn Borek Aquatic Centre, the Climbing Wall officially opened on January 22, 2011. Learn more about our climbing wall.

Features:

Dimensions: 46 feet tall, 20 feet wide
13-foot free-standing boulder
13-foot Cave with a 5 and a half foot overhang
The main wall is a patented Enterprises mixture, combining fibreglass and concrete, called Imprint. The Boulder is a patented material called Free Form. These surfaces are similar to what one would encounter outdoors on a rock face.
Everyone aged 4 years and up can try the wall.

This amazing feature was made possible thanks to help provided by local community groups (including the local Rotary Clubs, South Peace Oilmen's Association, Kinsmen Club, Northern BC Winter Games Society and the North East BC Energy Conference) who raised money and donated the project.
