Report a Crime

Call 911 immediately if:

  • You are in immediate danger
  • A crime is happening right now
  • There is violence or a threat to a person
  • You require an urgent police response

911 should only be used for emergencies where immediate police, fire, or medical assistance is needed. For non-emergency incidents, residents are encouraged to use online reporting when eligible or contact the Dawson Creek RCMP non-emergency line at 250-784-3700

Online Crime Reporting

Residents can report certain non-emergency crimes online through the Dawson Creek RCMP if the following conditions apply:

  • The incident occurred within the Dawson Creek RCMP jurisdiction
  • You would like to report:
    • Lost property valued under $5,000 (without serial numbers or unique identifying marks)
    • Theft under $5,000 (without serial numbers or unique identifying marks)
    • Vandalism or property damage under $5,000 to a vehicle or property
    • Driving complaints, including speeding, distracted driving, or failure to obey traffic signs and signals

Online reporting helps keep emergency lines available for urgent situations and provides a convenient way to report eligible incidents.

You cannot report a crime online if:

  • There is a witness or suspect (unless it is a driving complaint).
  • There are lost or stolen items involving personal identity, firearms, license plates or decals.
  • There are lost or stolen items that are identifiable by a serial number or unique identifying marks (ie. engraved with an individual's name/unique number).
