Fire Prevention

Fire prevention is everyone's responsibility. When you get your first business licence you will need a fire inspection. City staff will work with you to book a time for your first inspection. You will have to be present at the time of the inspection.

To understand your fire service requirements, see the references below:

Assembly occupancies

Daycares and preschools

Multi-residential

Retail commercial

Service stations

Once an inspection has happened, you may have to have additional inspections to confirm compliance. The Fire Prevention Officer will complete routine inspections as required by your business type.

For more information, contact the City's Fire Prevention Officer by calling 250-782-9898.
