Snow and Ice Removal

Dawson Creek is a winter City. Snow plowing and removal is completed on a priority basis.

Snow plowing

View the Road priority snow-plowing map. Priority levels are:

  1. Hills and main routes
  2. Hospital access
  3. Bus routes
  4. Downtown core
  5. Schools and major routes

Highways such as 8 Street and Alaska Avenue are maintained by the Provincial Road Contractor.

View the City's Snow plowing and removal policy.

Sidewalks

Property owners are responsible for clearing the sidewalks in front of their property, as stated in our Property Maintenance Bylaw. Property owners with a multi-use path in front of their property are not responsible for clearing the path. City crews will clear and maintain the multi-use path throughout the year.

For questions or concerns related to snow plowing or removal, call 311.
